Had several false transmission warnings that I believe was caused by low voltage. When I turn the heat or ac on, all the bottons work as they should as well in the steering wheel control. I can't seem to activate cruise control on my 05 Prius. Autonation Toyota in Austin misdiagnosed the problem, returned it to me as repaired which it was not. I'm not sure it's really that different - the compressor's either on or off, it doesn't run at different speeds. I have looked through my hayne's book with no luck.
Then remove the kick plate down by the floor mat it snaps out. Everything back to normal once the cabin temp was down. Now it will start sometimes and will not start at other times. Happened twice over the course of a few days. Took a look for the normal culprit.
Shop removed bumper for headlight access, replaced bulb with one we'd bought online. Vacuum seal wouldn't close so had to be replaced. Not sure why the one side burns out frequently. Entailed dropping the front bumper, etc. Replaced for 270 - dealer credit of 50.
Thanks to the internet and the extremely common issue of the blower motor being a piece of cheap crap, specifically in the 2008 model, there were plenty of how to's online that helped me out. Prius Gen 2 :: No Air Comes Out Of Vents Whether On Low Med Or High - Fan Not Working Sometimes? This caused the 12V system to fall to zero, and reset. Is there modification to make it more powerful? Sometimes just turning headlights off then back on caused light to come back on. My mechanic drained the system and re-charged it, but that hasn't worked - although he is a terrific diagnostic mechanic, he is puzzled. Checked antenna assy connections lowered headliner ; removed radio assy chk connex; cleaned terminals at antenna. Speed and air flow to control the temperature, to prevent the battery from being discharged, do not leave the air conditioning longer than necessary, when the hybrid system not operating, air conditioning is turned not operated.
Dash buttons only turn audio on and off, no matter what button is pushed. Rumor has it that this problem is very common, and is actually caused by defective bulbs that were installed in 2006 year prius'. I found tips on PriusChat. I have had to hit the sweet spot about 4 or 5 times in the last 2 months. After removing the screws you have to kind of wiggle the plate out of there. The dealer said the bulbs just needed to be replaced.
Required frequent jump starts, battery charged normally during operation. Drive around for 20 minutes, and all of a sudden, it would come on and work perfectly. Short at fuse block was where dealer connected fog lights. The headlight bulbs do not last at all long. To disconnect the motor from the blower, uninstall the three screws holding the motor in place with a Philips screwdriver.
Today I needed to put on the defrost and same thing, nothing came out of the vents. This is a chronic problem. Then remove the blower wheel from the motor shaft. The blower speed doesn't change the compressor's power usage. I turn it up on any fan speed, and set it on the floor setting, and nothing blows out the bottom vents. Stock except for a leveling kit and an aftermarket head unit. I have a 2000 yukon and the climate control stopped working.
I have a 2010 Ford Explorer and my air conditioning unit is working, however, I am not getting any air flow thru the interior vents. At other times it works as expected. Car had too many miles to qualify for class action settlement on this issue. Vehicle powered on, but without ready light. Not from Toyota, but my dealer El Cajon Toyota, refunding 75% of price. Other times it is all the way to the highest mark. I will probably junk it.
