As someone who attends the occasional comic convention, this movie felt dead-on in its loving lampoon of same. And Fred steers the gang through a dangerous situation, and saves everyone. When a situation with some symbolism affects the mayor directly, he in an annoying manner throws a tantrum and acts like the slime attack was Scooby and the gang's fault.
He was portrayed as a vengeful, crotchety old guy with a bone to pick with the world. It was down right passable. But it explores a lot of interesting themes. I was excited to see that Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. This 19th movie is different, and not the defining film. But sometimes our closest friend, or someone we think we can trust is the one ready to thrust the knife in our back. He turned his attention to Scooby, and order his Hideous Hyde Hound to end the dog's life.

I didn't like the way the Blue Falcon was depicted. However, Oven Garrison shows up in the , and together with Scooby, they defeated them both. And this helps him to 'find the hero in himself. We are on a quest to own all of the modern Scooby-Doo sorry, classic 'Doo lovers, but I find the original series--and those featuring a certain unmentionable puppy--unwatchable.
What makes Scooby-Doo fun to watch is trying to figure out who done it towards the end of the program, not at the beginning. His master plan was to get the screening of the new Blue Falcon movie changed to a baseball stadium, and then use the robot to divert traffic and cause an armored car, which was filled with the proceeds from all the entrance fees to the convention, to have to go down an empty side street, where he could attack it. Was it the best Scooby ever? Using his knowledge of robotics and special effects, he created the Mr. Rabble was undefeated until he was banned from the competition, due to his robot designs being too dangerous, one even destroying the studio with a missile. I was really surprised when I noticed all the cameo appearances in this movie from other Hanna-Barbera cartoons. Warner bros has found a way to modernize Scooby Doo without sacrificing the core of what made the Mystery inc gang famous in the 70's. The Adam West character may have disturbing rages, but somehow, we never lose our sympathy for him.
Fred the leader finds himself on his own except for the gang of course and one other person, Velma's perception finds some important clues, at one point Daphne in a girly fashion helps them. To make ends meet, Rabble signed autographs at a booth at the San De Pedro comic convention, eventually sharing a booth with , the original Blue Falcon to save money. I can't disclose all the details. But it holds its own and has some very funny scenes starring a disgruntled former television star who is clearly meant as an homage to Adam West, among other things. That would ruin it for those who haven't seen it.
